Grace Church Special Interest Groups

Yoga

Yoga Classes are offered Wednesday at 6pm, and Saturday at 9am. The cost is $8 per class on a drop-in basis, or $30 per month for up to 5 classes during that month. Contact Melissa Peet at 706-2401 or via email at Melissa.Peet@gmail.com.

Tai Chi

Currently an advanced class and a beginners class is being held at Grace. If interested contact Patrick Fannes at 282-1245.

Qigong

Qigong is an ancient Chinese exercise system that incorporates meditation and gentle mindful movement.  Appropriate for all ages, the various exercises can be practiced standing or seated. Qigong is taught on Monday evenings in the Graceful Grounds Fellowship Hall from 6:30-7:30PM.  There is no fee for the class, but donations for the church are greatly appreciated.  For more information or to get on the email list for updates and class announcements, please call Susan Johnson Smith at 336.382.2746 or via email at susanjohnsonsmith@triad.rr.com.

Taijai

Beginners and intermediate Taijai is taught in the Graceful Grounds Fellowship Hall from

The morning class will be held at 10:30AM and will last a little over an hour so that we can include some Qigong and meditation practice. This class will run for 12 weeks, but that may change due to interest. The fee for this session is $60.

The afternoon class will start at 5:30 and will be 45 minutes in length in order to welcome the Qigong class with (hopefully) less interruption. This class will only include basic warm-up exercises and then go straight into form practice.

United Methodist Women and associated Circles

This women's organization is comprised of distinct sub-groups of women that meet on a monthly basis from September to May. These groups provide an excellent way to get connected to other women in the church. Meetings are centered around fellowship, Bible study, prayer and planning for missions within the community. Grace Lawn Care Team

Grace Lawn Care is not an elegant ministry but a vital one to say the least. Grace is one of the most beautiful churches in the city, with one of the best manicured landscapes. Members of our church perform all of the maintenance, saving the church thousands of dollars each year, which is in-turn put to use in our community. Grace Dinner Groups

These informal groups meet twice a year at Grace and consist of three or four family units. The groups meet for dinner and fellowship at either an area restaurant or the home of one of the participants.

Grace Dinner Groups Coming April 25th, 2009

Looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday night---- complete with good food and fun Grace Church friends? 

Contact Alexis Williams (540-1368), or reply to agpwilliams@yahoo.com if you would like to participate in dinner groups that will meet Saturday, April 25th 7pm -11pm. Your Dinner Group Coordinator will contact you by Monday, April 21st to let you know when and where your dinner group will meet.

A Grace Church Kids Pajama Party will be provided by Preferred Childcare representatives so parents can participate in dinner groups-Saturday, April 25th from 6:30 -10:30 pm.  Kiddos are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring their sleeping bag and pillow. Crafts, games, movies, and snacks will be included.  There will be a charge of up to $10 per child for the evening. Grace Athletic Teams

Grace church participates in both men's softball and basketball leagues in the city. Men of all skill levels are encouraged to play. Bobby Greiner is our capable coach and can be reached at 292-0644, or via email at greiner-at-mindspring.com.

The Agents of Grace

This team of worship leaders meets to jam and prepare for Sunday's 9am service on Wednesday evenings at 8pm. Instrumentalists as well as vocalists are an integral part of this contemporary music group. The leader of this group is Marshall Johnson. Chimes Ministry

The church also sponsors a senior chimes ministry which plays in nursing homes throughout the area. The ability to read music is not a prerequisite and is open to all. This ministry is led by Jeannine Bailer. She can be reached via e-mail at jcbailer-at-bellsouth.net.

Adult Chancel Choir

The adult chancel choir has a longstanding reputation of providing quality and enriching music at Grace. The adult choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7pm and participates in our traditional Sunday Worship at 11am. Choir rehearsal is held in the music room on the second floor of the sanctuary building.
