Meet Grace Church's Newest Members

 

It is our privielege to welcome Tim and Elizabeth Owens, along with their son Bruce, to the Grace Church family. Tim is employed with the US Department of Justice and Elizabeth works for The Princton Review. The Owens attend the 9:00 a.m. worship service. We hope you will make every effort to offer them a warm Grace welcome when you see them this Sunday.

 

 

 

Please join us in offering a warm Grace Church welcome to Julie and Scott Werts, along with their daughter, Sophie. Scott is employed by Federal Express and he and Julie are glad to be in Greensboro after living and working in Italy for several months. The Werts are expecting their second child in just a few weeks. Her name will be Mirabella. Scott and Julie attend the 9:00 a.m. worship service and are looking forward to meeting you there!

 

 

 

On June 7, it was our privilege to welcome Kimberly Terry along with her two children, Natalie (4) and Nathaniel (2) on June 7th. Kimberly, who is married to Russ, is a project coordinator for the Special Education Services Department at UNC-Greensboro. The Terry's attend the 9:00 a.m. worship service. Please make every effort to welcome Kimberly, Natalie and Nathaniel when you see them this week.

 

 

What a joy it was to receive Michael and Heather Cosgrove into our wonderful community of faith on Sunday, May 23 at our 9:00 a.m. worship service. Mike is employed by Ferguson Enterprises and Heather is an accountant with BB&T. The Cosgroves have already gotten involved at Grace. Mike plays on the Grace men's softball team and Heather is singing with our our 9:00 worship band - Agents of Grace. We hope you will welcome the Cosgroves when you see them this Sunday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Sunday, May 23 it was our privilege to welcome Joshua and Sally Wordes, along with their children, Austin and Molly, to the Grace family. Joshua is employed by The Hartford Insurance agency and Sally owns her own hairstyle business. Josh also plays on our church softball team. The Wordes normally attend our 10:15 a.m. worship service. Please be sure to offer them a warm Grace welcome when you see them there.

 

 

 

 

Daryl and Emily Schmitz along with their children, Abigail and Isabelle, became a part of our wonderful community of faith on Sunday, May 23 at our 10:15 a.m. worship service. Daryl is employed by Tri-city Auto Salvage and Emily works with Wendover OB/GYN. Daryl also plays softball on our Grace Men's softball team. We are thrilled to have the Schmitz as a part of the Grace family and hope you will make every effort to get to know them.

 

 

 

 

 

At our 10:15 a.m. worship service on May 9, we had the privilege of welcoming Jay and Laurie Smith, along with their son, Finn, into the Grace Church family. Laurie is employed as a nurse practioner with LeBauer Health Care. Jay owns Jay's Used Autos which is located on Bessemer Avenue. We hope you will offer Jay, Laurie and Finn a warm Grace welcome when you see them this Sunday.

 

 

 

 

On Sunday, May 9, Grace Church was pleased to welcome Joe and Brooke Caraher, and their son, Sam, to our family of faith. Joe is employed as an assistant principal at Northwest High School in Guilford County. Brooke is employed as a nurse with the Moses Cone and Alamance Health Care System. The Carahers normally attend the 9:00 a.m. service of worship. Please be sure and welcome Joe, Brooke and Sam when you see them at worship.

 

 

Please join us in offering a warm Grace Church welcome to Bill and Mary Ann Kopp who joined the Grace family at the 9:00 a.m. service on May 2. Bill and Mary Ann met in Texas, but moved to Greensboro several years ago. Bill is employed as an engineer with RF Micro Devices. Mary Ann enjoys gardening, cooking and caring for their beautiful Sheltie. The Kopps are already helping shape and mold young lives for Christ through their work with our Grace Youth. They currently lead a small group for senior highs in their home! Why not introduce yourself to Bill and Mary Ann at the 9:00 a.m. worship service this Sunday?

 

 

We were pleased to welcome Cindy and Bob Dunning to Grace at the 11:00 a.m. worship service on April 25th. The Dunning's have four grown sons between them and two grandsons with another due in about three weeks.  (Cindy is furiously knitting baby blankets and booties!!) They are both employed in the medical industry, Cindy at Greensboro Pathology and Bob at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, but their passion is music. Cindy directed choirs for children and teenagers for many years here in Greensboro. Bob sang with the Piedmont Opera Chorus in Winston-Salem for 11 seasons and was the lead vocalist/director with the Society Swing Band for over 20 years. The Dunnings are now a part of our wonderful chancel choir.

 

Help us welcome Drake and Laura Evans along with their children, Tori (5) and Jack (2), to our Grace Church family. The Evans' joined on April 11th at the 10:15am service. Drake grew up in Madison, NC, graduated from Appalachian State and works for Senn Dunn. Laura was born and raised in Greensboro and graduated from UNCG. She is at home with Tori and Jack and is also involved in her family's business. The Evans are excited to be a part of the new 11 am "Seekers" small group.

 

 

We are pleased to welcome Ruthanne Matson into the Grace church family. Ruthanne joined Grace at our 10:15 service on February 21st. Ruthanne grew up in Charlotte and attended the NC School of the Arts where she studied classical ballet. She then went on to New York where she studied at Joffrey Ballet. Upon returning to North Carolina Ruthanne atttended UNC-G. Ruthanne currently works at Triad Guaranty Insurance as a Regulatory Compliance Manager. Ruthanne has a beautiful 9 year old daughter named Jessica who attends Florence Elementary School. Jessica loves the Girl Scouts and is an aspiring artist. You can find Ruthanne at our 10:15 service, normally seated next to her friend Lisa Fields.

 

We are delighted to welcome Jennifer and Ron Pitts into membership at Grace Church. Jennifer who is originally from Greensboro grew up in Boone. Ron a native of New Hampshire moved with his family to the sunny south and settled in Wilmington, NC. Jennifer works in outside sales for Brady Trane, and Ron works for System Contractors, Inc, a local mechanical contracting company. Ron and Jennifer love doing many things, but have recently been spending their time adjusting to being new parents to 4 month old Mallory Anne. Ron and Jennifer are avid NC State Fans--"Go Wolfpack". Ron and Jennifer live in Summerfield. Remember to look for them at our 11am service.

 

 

Help us welcome Jason and Beth Sanders to Grace Church. Jason and Beth moved to Greensboro from Charlotte last  June. Jason grew up in Greensboro, while Beth is from Bristol TN.  Jason and Beth met at undergrad school at Clemson, where Jason got his degree in architecture and Beth got a degree in nursing. Jason then  attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where he got his Medical degree. Jason has opened  a new Ophthalmology practice here in GSO, where he specializes in  diseases of the retina. Beth is the part time bookkeeper for the  practice. Jason and Beth have 2 wonderful sons, Cooper (9) and John (6). Look for them at the 9 a.m. service. You can also meet Beth at our women's ministry meetings each Wednesday.

 

 

 

 

Please join us in welcoming Craig and Heather Kiser and their one year old daughter Abby. The Kiser family joined Grace Church on January 3rd at our 10:15 service.  Craig is an attorney with Schell, Bray, Aycock, Abel and Livingston and Heather stays busy at home chasing after their daughter.  Since Craig and Heather both attended UNC, they are a big Carolina fans!  Please look for them at our 10:15 service.

 

It's our pleasure to introduce you to Mark and Kimberly Westmoreland who joined Grace at our combined worship service on December 27th, 2009. Mark is a native of Greensboro and has lived here his entire life. Kimberly is originally from Madison, Wisconsin, but grew up in California before landing here in Greensboro. She and Mark met about three years ago and have been married almost two years. Mark serves us proudly as a Greensboro Firefighter, while Kimberly is still looking for that perfect job; in the meantime she busies herself working at home and by getting involved in worthwhile causes. You can find Mark and Kim on most Sundays at our 9am service. Welcome Mark and Kimberly!

 

 

Grace Church is delighted to welcome Chris and Whitney Gregory into the Grace Church family. They join us along with their soon to be 1 year old son Thomas. You can find them most Sundays at the 9am service in Graceful Grounds. Originally from Virginia, Chris and Whitney moved to NC several years ago for new jobs, both work for area universities in student affairs. Chris works at UNC-G and Whitney works at Elon University. Other than being busy parents Chris and Whitney enjoy outdoor activities, dancing, and good music. They currently live in McLeansville. Let's be sure to welcome them and do our best to get them connected at Grace.

 

 

 

Help us welcome Jennifer and Evan Smith into Membership at Grace Church. Jennifer and Evan joined Grace on Sunday October 11th at our 10:15 service. Jennifer and Evan are the proud parents of a delightful little boy named Carson. Jennifer works as a guidance counselor at Northwest High School and Evan works at Volvo. Jennifer is transferring her membership from Christ UMC and Evan is coming from Fist Baptist Church. We are delighted to have them as a part of our fellowship.

 

 

John and Angie Wells joined Grace Church at our 11 O'Clock service on Sunday August 23rd. John and Angie as well as their two beautiful daugthers, Sophie and Phoebe, are no strangers to Grace and have been among us for quite some time. John is a computer guru and works for Timco here in Greensboro. Angie is just as busy working at home with the girls. John and Angie come to us through a transfer of their membership from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Marrietta Georgia. Be sure to welcome John and Angie to Grace.

 

Grace Church had the pleasure of welcoming Jason and Amy Knight into our fellowship on June 21st at our 9am service in Graceful Grounds. Jason is an attorney with the Knight and Free Law firm, and Amy works at home as a stay at home mom. Amy stays real busy since she and Jason are the proud parents of three wonderful children; Joshua who is 8, Jacob who is 6, and Emma Grace who is 4 years old. Jason comes to us through transfer of his membership from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, and Amy by transfer of her membership from First Baptist Church here in Greensboro. Amy and Jason are already active in the Exchange Class, and their children can be seen at most of our children's activities. Be sure to seek them out and introduce yourselves to them.

 

 

Jay and Jamie Braxton and their son Cooper who is soon to be 2 years old joined Grace at our 10:15 service on June 7th. Jay is a pharmacist and works in sales management for deCode Genetics.  Jamie works at home as a stay at home mom.    Jay comes to us by transfer of his membership from Bethel UMC in Graham and Jamie from Westminster Presbyterian.  Since Jay went to pharmacy school at Carolina they are big Carolina fans. I know all of you look forward to getting to know them better.

 

 

 

 

Matt and Salam Skeen along with their daughter Mattison who will be 2 yrs old in July, also joined Grace on June 7th at our 10:15 service. Shortly after joining, the family was blessed with the addition of a son, Carter John.  Matt is an engineer with General Dynamics and got his degree from NC State, and Salam is a stay at home mom and a part time attorney. Salam got her undergrad degree from NC state in engineering and has a law degree from Carolina.  However they both are big NC State fans. Be sure to welcome the Skeen's next time you see them.

 

 

Grace Church welcomes Gavin and Kendall Tomalas and their 2 1/2 year old son Logan who joined our Grace family on May 31st at the 9am service. Gavin is employed by General Casualty Insurance and Kendall works as a stay at home mom. Gavin joins through profession of faith and Kendall by reaffirmation of her faith. We are excited to share in the anticipation of a new addition to the Tomalas family; baby Charlotte is expected to make debut around July 18th. Let's make a special effort to welcome the Tomalas' into our fellowship.

 

 

 

 

Let's give a big "Grace Church Welcome" to Rick Saunders and Sarah Isbister who joined Grace on May 17th at our 11am service. Rick lives on W. Cone Blvd, and is employed at KAO Specialites America (KSA). Sarah lives on Latham Rd, and is employed by Moses Cone Health Care Systems. Rick comes to us by transfer of his membership from Newlyn St. UMC, and Sarah is transferring her membership from Trinity UMC in Pooler, GA. Sarah is no stranger to Greensboro, she grew up in Bessemer United Methodist Church here in town. Look for Rick and Sarah at our 11 am service and make sure your introduce yourself to them.

 

 

Todd and Cassidy MacKay joined Grace Church on Sunday May 10th. This Mother's Day was especially meaningful; for in addition to joining Grace they also celebrated the Baptism of their beatiful daughter Lillian Ryan. The MacKay's live in the Lake Jeanette area. Todd is employed by Pfizer and Cassidy is employed by Ernst and Young. Look for the MacKays at our 9am service and make sure you have a chance to meet them.

 

 

 

 

Rob and Kristin Weldon joined Grace on April 26th. Rob and Kristin live in Kirkwood. Kristin works for Youth Focus, and Rob works for South Atlantic Lumber. Rob and Kristin can normally be found at our 10:15 Contemporary service. Let's make it a point to seek them out and welcome them to Grace.

 

 

 

 

Let's welcome Scott and Kim Wilson along with their children Alyse (5 years old) and Lily Kate (3 years old). Scott and Kim come to us from Sherman, Texas. Kim is employed by Bentbrook Furniture and Scott is employed by MedStrive. The Wilsons joined on March 15th at our 9am service. As you can see the Wilsons are big Deamon Deacon fans.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's our pleasure to welcome Hallie Zook and Austin Ribelin to the Grace Church family. Hallie is employed by Southeastern Radiology, and Austin is a graduate of Elon University School of Law. Hallie and Austin will be united in marriage at Grace on August 8th of this year. They joined Grace on Sunday March 1st at our 11am service.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meg and Challey Strader joined Grace on Sunday January 11th at our 11am service. Meg and Challey are expecting their first child on February 15th. Her name will be Margaret Louise Strader. Challey works for Frishkorn and Meg is employed at Scout and Molly's Boutique. Please make it a point to introduce yourself to Meg and Challey!

 

 

 

 

 

Matt and Jillian Angel and their infant daughter Madeline Caryn joined Grace on Sunday January 11th at our 11am service. Other than working on adjusting to parenthood, Jillian works for Alliance Urology Specialists and Matt works for Agilent Technologies. Welcome to Grace!

 

 

 

 

 

Mike and Audrey Albright joined the Grace Church family on December 14th. Mike and Audrey are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters Susanna (8 yrs old) and Lainey (5 yrs old). Mike works for Gildan Activewear and Audrey works for Pyramids Fitness. You can normally find the Albright family at our 9am service.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gwen and Jarrod Clayton joined Grace on October 12, 2008 at our 9am service. Gwen and Jarrod are pictured here on a family vacation with their children 4 year old Will and 2 year old Katherine. Gwen is a stay at home mom and Jarrod works for McGladrey and Pullen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charles and Diane Bray who live on Tower Drive joined Grace on December 7th at our 11am service which they attend regularly. Charles works for NS Flexibiles.

 

 

 

 

 

Scott and Rachel McDowell with their children Sean age 4 and Ellie who is almost 2, joined Grace on December 7th at our 9am service. Scott works for Gilbarco and Rachel is a stay at home mom. Scott and Rachel can be found most weeks in Graceful Grounds and on Tuesday's at the Message at M'Coul's.

 

 

 

 

 

Chet and Caroline Carpenter with their 5 year old daughter Emma joined Grace on November 23rd at 9am. Caroline is a teacher with Guilford County Schools and Chet works for VF Corp. They normally attend our 9am service.
